Micro SOS

The development of micro SOS range is made possible by the placing on the market of weaving Porcher Sport for the revolutionary parachute jumping and parachutes.

The outstanding performance of this tissue are due to several factors, which include:

  • The long experience Porcher Sport in fabrics for parachutes and paragliders
  • Modern tool production Porcher Sport can rely on advanced equipment
  • Using a 6.6 high tenacity nylon 33% thinner and lighter
  • The use of a yarn of 14 filaments (instead of 7 for son standards)
  • Increasing the density of the weave as a chain (+20%) in the weft (20%)

The result is a fabric less than 32 g/m2, perfectly balanced, with a very good resistance to tearing and breaking especially with POROSITY A VERY LOW, that is to say, three to ten times lower than that of other tissues less than 32 g/m2 available on the market. At low speeds (less than 20 km / h), it is precisely this very low porosity that achieves outstanding performance and get a speed drop below 5.5 m / s (EN 12491) with at just over one in four m2 kg load.

All parachutes for hang glider and paraglider SOS are manufactured with the best materials available on the market (Porcher Sport fabric) and are certified according to the new standard européenneEN12491.

The SOS emergency parachutes for hang glider and paraglider are hemispherical type parachute rope center.
According to the specifications that led to their design, these parachutes should stand by their very easy folding and use their unfailing reliability as well as their excellent technical characteristics (speed opening freefall speed reduced stability).
During certification tests according to EN, so that the opening speed stability and sink rate were considered “very good.”
To facilitate folding, the half-caps left and right are different colors.
